Confirmation At Home

Did you miss class this week?  or did you simply want to enhance what we learned in confirmation by doing some at home activities?  On this site you will find a series of readings, activities and ideas to help strengthen what we've been doing in class!
These are not an alternative to attending class.  Rather they should be used in conjunction with class!

January 11:  Baptism

This video from "Chuck Knows Church" was viewed on Sunday night in Confirmation.  Chuck is a Methodist...but don't worry...Methodists and Lutherans are almost identical in their beliefs on Baptism!

If you missed class, or just want a refresher check it out!  If you missed class, please respond to three posts.  if you attended class please respond to one.

Also if you missed class, please read the story of Jesus' Baptism in Matthew 3:13-17

Weekly Challenge

Read Deuteronomy 34.  Consider what it would have been like to be Moses...to have led the Isrealites for over 40 years and to look down on the promised land that they would now be allowed to enter.

Just for fun

There is a brand new movie coming out on December 16 called, Exodus Gods and Kings.  Check out the video preview below
in 1956 an epic saga of Moses was released in movie theatres called, "The Ten Commandments.  It was the second highest grossing film of the 1950's and it won an academy award for the special effects.  This nearly 4 hour film can be seen on TV at Easter time every year.  Don't have 4 hours?  Check out this clip of Moses parting the red sea!

Weekly Forum

This is a new feature for confirmation.  It is expected that all youth will respond to one forum question with at least a 3 sentence answer.  There are no wrong answers...this is simply a way to keep the conversation going past Sunday night!  You may notice that several weeks worth of material will be posted at once.  Please stick to the material that we covered last week!
