Stepping Stones Events

Stepping Stones events are one of the many ways that Hope supports the faith formation of children and their families!  Each year from birth through confirmation we offer a Stepping Stones event for you and your child!  Each year if you attend the event you will receive a gift that will help you grow in faith at home!
We are currently taking a break from this program due to Covid-19 and other staffing related issues.  We hope to be able to offer this program starting in 2022-23

Kindergarten Stepping Stone -
Gift: "The Apostles' Creed Illustrated for Children"

Join us for the Kindergarten Stepping Stone. During this time we will look at the Apostles' Creed, helping small minds understand what it means. This will be done utilizing The Apostles' Creed Illustrated for Children. We will focus a lot on the idea of what a creed is, what makes each of our families unique and why the Apostle's creed is important.

Gift: Baptismal themed activities

Join us for a stepping stone on baptism. During this time we will focus on what baptism is, spend some time remembering the baptisms, and creating something that can be used to remember our baptism every day, and to help remind us that we are a Child of God. We look forward to seeing your family for this important reminder of our birth into the church family!

2nd Grade Stepping Stone
Gift: 10 Commandments themed activities

Join us as we look at the Ten Commandments and ask the question "Why rules?" This will be a great time to talk about why we have rules and the importance of God's rules for us. This stepping stone invites you to remember the promise made at baptism to teach them the Lord's Prayer, the Creed, and the Ten Commandments.  We will have a special 10 commandments craft that will be made during this class as well.

3rd Grade Stepping Stone
Gift: SPARK NRSV Bible

In third grade, children receive a new Bible.  This spark bible is different from the story bible that children receive in preschool and is a complete NRSV Bible. The time spent together will focus on family devotions and how to implement the new SPARK NRSV Bible. This is a great tool for continuing to learn about the scriptures and to help enhance one's faith.

Sunday School

Sunday School at Hope is offered for children ages 3 through 7th grade and typically follows the Bozeman School District schedule. This year, we will begin Sunday School on September 10th

Our Sunday School program begins with the children in worship at 10:30. Then following a special children's message, they are dismissed to go to either music or their classrooms depending on the week.

On the 4th Sunday of each month we encourage families to worship together. In order to help our teachers also have this opportunity, there is no Sunday School on the 4th Sunday of each month. This service is led by our Youth Band and will typically try to incorporate more family friend portions. We do understand that for families with younger children this can become a challenge. As a result, we make sure that our nursery is staffed to provide care for your children should you choose to utilize that option.

To the right you will find a schedule of when Sunday School will NOT be held along with special dates to be aware of. If you have any questions about Sunday School or would like to help with Sunday School, please contact Meredith Johnson (meredithannjohnson@yahoo.com).
Each month we have a family Sunday when children an families are encouraged to worship together.  The following Sundays are Family Sundays and only nursery care will be available
