Hey Everybody! We at Hope Lutheran Church want to encourage you to STAY HOME! The way that we all don't get sick is by staying home for the next two weeks, or maybe a month. This is super lame, and we never would have chosen this to go the way that it has. But as people of faith we do have to have Hope that at the end of the day God is in control. In fact, today, God has given us resources to stay healthy...simply by staying at home for a few weeks.
And here's one of the pieces of good news...God has filled this world with millions of creative people, many of whom work in education, whether as teachers, church workers or many other areas...and we've all just been asked to close our doors.
While we love Netflix as well as anyone...that's going to get old super quick. So we here at Hope Lutheran are going to be doing work over the next week to organize resources for parents, families, children and people of all ages.
Some of these may be faith based activities, educational resources, Bible reflections, videos of sermons, links to congregations with online worship experiences (including our own), and more.
We also will be hosting live opportunities for people of different ages. These will be any number of things and may include Bible Lessons for children and their parents, a forum for children to talk with other children about the challenges and fears, a forum for parents to discuss their concerns, joys and to just support each other.
Please know that we are all in this together...no one in our lifetime has had to deal with this sort of thing...so please have patience but also know that we are going to work with you to help you get through this.
For now our best advise is to STAY HOME unless it is absolutely necessary to go out. If we can all do this we can beat this thing and get back to the in person communities that by the time we are done here will be desperately needed. Take hope...God is with us. WE as the church and as people of faith must be the light in the darkness.
